There's no denying, with so much history, the French style of decorating is here to stay. Whether it's French Country or classic French, a lot of designers & decorators have fallen in love with this style. It has also evolved with the modern times.
Here are some tips to make your home French-inspired:

1. Arrange your furniture imaginatively. They don't have to be alike or part of a whole set & they don't have to be placed straight either! Have fun with it!

2. Have at least one grand antique (or antique reproduction) piece. maybe a fabulous settee, a Louis chair, or a fringed & tufted ottoman.

3. Fabric!Fabric!Fabric! Lots of it. fill the room with luscious drapes or upholstered furnishings.

4. Grand Lighting. Make it dramatic, nothing evokes the French feel more than a sophisticated chandelier.

5. Groupings. Have a photo collage in Rococo frames, candleholders of varying heights or achitectural prints.

6. Color it pure. Crisp & clean white decor is a staple of french decorating.

7. Pattern! Pattern! Pattern! Yes, do not be afraid of pattern. Whether it's toile, chintz or chinoisserie, an abundance of pattern & print also abound in French decorating.

8. Unique Treasures. Accessorize with items with a lot of history. From flea market finds, items from one-of-a-kind shops or those must-haves from your travels.

I hope these tips will help you achieve a little bit of France whereever you are. This month, the shop is celebrating the addition of a French Chateau collection, from pillows to wall plaques & more coming! Come & peruse the items that we have up so far!
